To Pimp A Butterfly by
Kendrick Lamar. This song is talking about the racist stereotypes society has while embracing the fact that he is African American. At the beginning of each verse he says that he's the 'biggest hypocrite of 2015' and only at the end of the song do you know why. In the last verse he talks about he explains he's a hypocrite because he's upset at gang violence that happens in Compton yet when he grew up there he participated it in himself.Kendrick talks about this song In an
MTV interview. There was controversy about this song because people believed that he was speaking to the community as a whole on the last verse, he says that the song was about his life and no one else's. He also speaks about the fact he still feels the hatred in this song because while he is living a good life now he was living in Compton for more than 20 years so those feelings are hard to erase. This song may be intended to be a more thorough explanation of what he said about the Ferguson Killing in a
